My name is Md Rahim Uddin, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Dr. Ankita Juneja’s Lab at SUNY ESF, Syracuse, NY. I did my B.Sc. (Engg.) in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), Sylhet, Bangladesh. Then, I have completed my Master of Engineering (Chemical) from the Faculty of Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering at University Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Pahang, Malaysia. Currently, I’m working on Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) of Biomass conversion at Dr. Juneja’s Lab. Before joining the Ph.D. program, I was working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Z. H. Sikder University of Science & Technology, Shariatpur, Bangladesh.
Research Interests: Biomass Conversion, Optimization (factorial design), Photocatalysts, Catalysis, CO2 reduction, Complex molecule synthesis, Biofuels, Battery Materials, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Material (Polymer) Science.
Greetings! My name is Sushant Gawali. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. Under the supervision of Dr. Ankita Juneja at SUNY ESF, Syracuse, NY. I completed my B.Tech in Biotechnology from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Maharashtra, India. Then, I completed my M.Tech in Food Biotechnology from Amity University Maharashtra, Mumbai, India. I was working as a Project Assistant at Department of Environmental Biotechnology in Amity University Maharashtra, Mumbai, India. Currently, I’m working on microalgae cultivation and biomass valorization at Dr. Juneja’s AWESOME Lab.
Research Interests: Microalgae cultivation, Wastewater treatment, Microalgal biomass valorization, Process Optimization, Thermochemical conversion, Microalgal biofuels, Environmental sustainability.
I’m Lalitha Shree Subramanian ( you can call me Lalitha). I graduated in Production Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE), Bangalore. Post my undergrad I worked in Schlumberger for 3 years and attended National Institute of Technology (NIT ) Jalandhar where I received my masters in Renewable Energy. Currently, I’m pursuing a Ph.D in Department of Chemical Engineering at SUNY ESF, under the guidance of Dr Ankita Juneja. I’m working on Process modeling, process simulation & optimisation of biochemical conversion at Dr. Juneja’s Lab. Outside the lab, I love to read fictional novels , paint contemporary art and watch lawn tennis.
Research Interests : Process modeling , process simulation & optimisation, environmental sustainability, circular bioeconomy, biofuels, biochemical conversion, analysis.
Greetings! My name is Aditi Verma. I am currently a master’s student in Bioprocess Engineering at SUNY ESF. I did my bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala (Punjab) India. Before embarking on my current academic pursuit, I gained valuable industry experience as a Process Design Engineer at SRF Limited, Gurugram (India). I am working on sustainable co-production of cellulose nanocrystals and high value bioproducts from forest residue biomass, under the mentorship of Dr. Ankita Juneja and Dr. Deepak Kumar. I am committed to contributing my best to the field of chemical and bioprocess engineering.
Research Interests: Bio-based conversion methods, Metabolic Engineering, Integrated Process Modelling, Process simulation & optimization, energy conversion, carbon management.
My name is Jingzhi Sun (you can also call me Kevin). I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) and SUNY ESF. Now, I am pursuing my master's degree in Dr. Juneja and Dr. Kumar's lab. My research interests are fermentation technology and bio-circular economy. The current focus of my research is on developing a biorefinery process for production of bioactive compounds from Spirulina.
My name is Xiaoqi Liu, and I am currently studying for a master's degree at SUNY ESF. I graduated from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and SUNY ESF, and have dual bachelor's degrees from China and the United States. Currently, I have started a new round of research and study under the guidance of Dr. Ankita Juneja. I am passionate about bioprocess engineering and look forward to bringing innovative solutions to this field.
